Freedom Groups

Do you desire to grow deeper in your relationship with God—or have you identified an area of life where you feel stuck, burdened, or disconnected from Him? Freedom Groups create intentional space for God to bring healing, clarity, and lasting transformation.

Freedom Groups build on the foundation of your faith in Christ, helping you embrace the truth of God’s Word as it shapes your worldview, your past, your sin, your identity, and your purpose in God’s Kingdom.

  • During our Spring Groups Season, Freedom Groups gather weekly for 12 weeks, from January through May. As you journey through the Freedom Group curriculum, weekly gatherings create space to unpack it together through guided discussion, Scripture reflection, and prayer—equipping you to walk in the victorious and abundant life Jesus came to give.

    These gatherings lead toward the Freedom Conference Weekend, an LA-wide gathering where Freedom Group participants come together for live teaching, worship, and extended prayer ministry—creating space for God to bring breakthrough and healing that seals the powerful work He has been doing throughout the 12-week journey.

    Because of this, participation in a Freedom Group requires commitment to attend the full Freedom Conference Weekend.If you’re unable to participate in the conference this season, we encourage you to wait for a future Freedom Group round so you can fully engage in the experience as it was designed.

  • The Freedom Curriculum focuses on six areas of personal growth:

    1. Living in the “Tree of Life”: God never wanted us to pursue dead religion, rather His heart is for us to know Him personally and live in our true identity as His children. You will learn what it means to live in the “Tree of Life” and how a simple but powerful perspective shift can impact every area of your life.

    2. Walking in the Spirit: The Bible talks about the Spirit-led life, but this kind of living can feel hard to reach. Through Freedom, you will learn the principles of spiritual order and how feeding your spirit over your emotions and flesh is key to walking in the Spirit.

    3. Surrendering to Jesus: God calls us to love and serve Him above all else, and when we do, we see how we can grow in our purpose, live forgiven and forgive others, and receive His blessings. Freedom will help you learn how to surrender to Jesus and live in freedom daily.

    4. Speaking Words of Life: Our words have power, and by learning to speak words of life that line up with God’s Word, your words can change your environment and relationships and break the power of the enemy’s words in your life.

    5. Becoming a Vessel God Can Use: God has a unique plan and purpose for our lives, but we also have an enemy who is trying to keep us from fulfilling this purpose. In your Freedom Group, you will learn how to stand in the authority of Jesus to overcome sin and the enemy’s schemes as you allow God to use your life for His glory.

    6. Living as a Worshipper: We all worship something. Freedom will help you learn how to daily direct your worship to God and discover how it can influence the heart of everything you do.

FAQs

  • Groups are gender-specific to create an environment of trust, privacy, and openness. Each group meets weekly for discussion, prayer, and reflection around the Freedom curriculum.

  • Freedom runs for 12 weeks and includes a Freedom Conference Weekend, with a Friday night and Saturday gathering focused on specific prompts, prayer, and ministry moments.

    Spring 2026 Dates: Groups will begin the week of January 18 and conclude with Freedom Conference over Friday May 29 & Saturday May 30.

  • Participating in Freedom Group costs $25, which covers your personal curriculum book and your Freedom Conference experience.

  • Freedom Groups are designed to help remove obstacles to intimacy with God so you can walk in true freedom. If you have any area(s) you want to see healed, strengthened, or renewed, taking part is a great step to consider taking.

    At Cathedral, we believe every person should experience Freedom Group at least once in their lifetime.

  • We want you to gain everything possible out of Freedom Groups, and because you cannot do that if you miss the Freedom Conference weekend, we will direct you to sign-up for a season when you’re able to attend.
